Strawberry Pageant '09~"Diaper Derby"

Well, I got talked into putting Addie in her first pageant last weekend by my niece, Rachel. I immediately thought "NO", but gave it a little more thought and talked to Scott about it. He didn't say much in the beginning besides don't get used to putting her in these things! I signed her up for the 7~12 month Diaper Derby pageant in P'town. All they were allowed to wear was a diaper cover/bloomers, a bow and socks. I already had a cute pair of bloomers w/strawberries on them. I had her initials monogrammed on the back. She wore those and a pink bow.

I was really nervous because I had to walk her out on stage.
There were twelve babies(girls)in the pageant. I think all of them were older than her and could do more...walk, wave, etc. I thought she might at least have a chance at 2nd runner up, but she didn't place. She looked cute, but they all were cute! It was disappointing. Not sure if I'll try it again. Like Scott said, "We don't need a pageant to say she's cute because we already know!" I thought that was sweet:) Anyway, here are a couple of pics that aren't very good because of the lighting.

Addie loves to "talk" to Ellie all the time! She just looks at her and starts babbling or laughing. It's so funny:) She tries to grab her tail and sometimes she pulls a little too hard. Ellie gets so mad and has snapped at her several times. In this video, Addie tries grabbing her. Ellie knows better and doesn't get too close.

"DaDa"

Well, last weekend, Addie finally started saying "DaDa" over and over and over!!! She's said it once before awhile ago, but nothing like this. Now she does this all the time and it sounds so cute...Scott loves it:) Now, we've got to get her to say "MaMa"! Here's a recent video of her new word...

A walk to the park!

We took Addie for a walk last week since the weather has been nice. She loves being in her stroller. We walked around our neighborhood and stopped at the playground. I know she's too young to do anything, but it was fun trying and getting pictures. She also watched daddy shoot some hoops. It was a fun day!

Over the past month (7mths old)...

I wanted to post some pictures of Addie over the past month. She's growing so fast!!! I know I keep saying that, but she turned 8 months on Wednesday(4-29)and I still can't believe it! She continues to do and learn new things. She says the word "hey" sometimes (atleast I think that's what it is), but not much of anything else. She babbles and screams a lot though. We think she's been teething again here lately because she's been a little crankier than usual, pulls at her ear a lot and keeps a runny nose...thank goodness for those teething tablets! She still continues to sleep thru the night and takes two naps a day. I give her a bottle and put her to bed around 8:00 and she wakes anywhere from 6:15-7:00. I hope she keeps this up! She's really been trying to crawl and kinda pull up on things. Just recently, she started getting on her hands and knees and rocking. It's so funny to watch. It won't be long til she's crawling! She already manages to get around everywhere by rolling and scooting backwards and grabs and pulls things off of tables and shelves. We've got to put up some things! She actually has more hair now too! Anyway, I wanted to catch everyone up on how's she's been doing before she gets any older.

Birthday Party!!!

Last weekend, Addie and I went to Jaxon's 1st bday party. He is the son of a friend of mine that I work with at school. It was also the first bday party that Addie has been to. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun. They had a wagon ride and a pool of balls they played in together. We ate cake and ice-cream too! Here are a few pics from the day.
